HPPC: “COSTA PALLAS S.A.” has been named the Winning Bidder for the lease of “Brunetti House”

A landmark property in Kos enters a new development phase with respect for its historical and architectural value

The Public Properties Company (HPPC), a subsidiary of the Growthfund, announces the completion of the open electronic auction (e-auction) for the lease of the “Brunetti House” property in Kos, via the e-publicrealestate.gr platform.

“COSTA PALLAS S.A.” was declared the winning bidder of the tender, with a financial offer of 85,000 euros against a starting price of 17,300 euros. This outcome reflects the significant investment interest in properties of high historical and locational value within HPPC’s portfolio. The lease duration is set for 16 years, with an option to extend for an additional 8 years.

The property ABK 19, known as “Brunetti House”, is a listed monument featuring distinct architectural and morphological elements. It serves as a characteristic example of interwar Italian architecture and a significant testament to the island’s history. It was constructed in 1936 during the Italian rule of the Dodecanese as the residence of the Italian official and physician, Alessandro-Antonio Brunetti, and was later utilized by the 80th Higher National Guard Battalions Command (ADTE).

The two-story building, with a total surface area of approximately 420 sq.m., is built on a 1,045 sq.m. plot and includes a ground floor, first and second floors, a small basement and auxiliary spaces. It is located within the urban fabric of Kos town, in a prime location on the coastal front, at the intersection of Themistokleous and Akti Kountourioti streets.

HPPC’s CEO, Ms. Iro Hadjigeorgiou, stated: “The utilization of our real estate portfolio gains true value when it combines development prospects with respect for the history and identity of each location. The ‘Brunetti House’ is a prime example of how HPPC activates assets in its portfolio, creating new opportunities for investment, local development, and the preservation of cultural heritage.”

The revival of Kos’s historic building is part of HPPC’s broader strategy for the active and targeted utilization of its portfolio. Through modern and transparent procedures, the Company aims to activate assets with development potential, creating new value for local communities and the economy, while respecting the unique characteristics and identity of each region.
