HPPC: Restoration and Operational Studies for the Government House (Kyvernio) Underway
The Joint Venture “SAMARAS & ASSOCIATES S.A. CONSULTING ENGINEERS – DELTA ENGINEERING S.A. – DIKTIO S.A.” has been declared the successful bidder in the international tender.
The significant project for the revival of the former Government House of Thessaloniki (Palataki) is entering its next phase. The Public Properties Company (HPPC) S.A., a subsidiary of the Growthfund, has concluded the international open tender for the restoration and operational study of this iconic property.
The Joint Venture “SAMARAS & ASSOCIATES S.A. CONSULTING ENGINEERS – DELTA ENGINEERING S.A. – DIKTIO S.A.” was declared the successful bidder and will undertake all necessary studies and administrative approvals required for the full maturity and tendering of the construction phase. The relevant contract was signed today by HPPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Iro Hadjigeorgiou, and the Chairman and CEO of the Samaras & Associates Group, Mr. Dimitris Samaras.
During this stage, the final vision of the project will take shape, as the specific uses for each area are determined to breathe new life into the listed building. The required studies include: specialized architectural study, structural study, electromechanical study, environmental study, transport study, landscaping study and hydraulic study.
It is recalled that in June 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Hellenic Parliament, the Growthfund, and ETAD, providing for the restoration and revival of the Government House (Kyvernio) as a cultural, conference, and event venue with activities accessible to all, as well as the establishment of a permanent presence of the Hellenic Parliament in Thessaloniki.
