HPPC: Tender for the development of a landmark property in the center of Chania
The old “Fridge” is in immediate proximity to the Municipal Market of Chania
The Public Properties Company (HPPC), a subsidiary of the Growthfund, announces the launch of the development process for a three-story property in the center of Chania, through an Open Tendering Procedure.
The property ABK 183 Chania, known as the old “Fridge” (Psigio)—as it used to supply ice to all professionals and residents of Chania—has a total surface area of 1,029.03 sq.m. and is located at the junction of Tsouderon Street and Markopoulou Square. The “Fridge” is in immediate proximity to the Municipal Market of Chania, one of the city’s most historic and recognizable areas, featuring intense commercial, tourist and cultural activity.
The building consists of a ground floor and two upper floors, measuring 343,01 sq.m. each and is situated in an area where a wide range of uses is permitted.
The goal of this development is the substantial upgrade of the property and its transformation into a modern hub for business, tourism, and cultural development, while simultaneously contributing to the enhancement of the wider area and the unique characteristics of the city of Chania.
The duration of the electronic tender is set until 3 July 2026 and the relevant terms and conditions of participation are posted on the platform e-PublicRealEstate.gr.
